The Grand Canyon

One of the most amazing things during our Roadtrip across America, was the Grand Canyon.  The Monterey Bay aquarium was cool because of it’s sealife (and because I had such great memories of going there as a little kid), but the Grand Canyon was awesome because it was huge.

The Grand Canyon is a huge, long, winding canyon that has been carved out by the Colorado River over the many years.  It is overall, 277 miles long, and up to eighteen miles wide in some areas–and can get to be deeper than a mile.  It is located in ‘Grand Canyon National Park’, Arizona.

It also has many colored layers of rock and clay in it, as you might be able to see from the photo to your Left…

For thousands of years, the canyon has been lived-in by Native Americans–some of which (the Pueblo people), considered the canyon…

Being an expat isn’t always fun.

Me, Myself and Atlanta

So usually my posts are about all the exciting things about being an expat and the exploring we’ve been up to in our new country, all of which is amazing!! Yep we can immerse ourselves in the American culture and check out the 4th of July parade and things like Braves,Hawks and Falcons games. (The last one we haven’t done yet but it’s on the list!) Yep we can explore the delights of Georgia and head to places like Stone Mountain, the Georgia Aquarium, the mountains and Lake Lanier that we would never have seen if we’d have stayed in the UK. Yep we can explore further afield in this amazing country and jump on a plane to places like Chicago, Vegas and New York and be there in a couple of hours or we can drive down the road for a few hours (well about 8!)…

X-Men: Days of Future Past (Trailer Review)

The Fluff Is Raging

X-Men: First Class was an enjoyable popcorn movie that explored the early days of the not-yet-stuck-in-a-wheelchair Professor X (James McAvoy), still-a-good-guy Magneto (Michael Fassbender), and all of their friends. Set around the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis, it was a nostalgic look at the 1960s, the Cold War and John F. Kennedy. The trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past makes it clear the heady days of the 1960s are over. The party has ended: welcome to the depression of the 1970s. In other words, break out the flared corduroy:
